Tandoori Chicken

A very easy Indian BBQ dish that heralds Indian summers in to your dining room. This is Cheryllyne’s father’s recipe. It’s finger licking good!

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken drumsticks
  • 10 tbs Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp coriander powder + cumin + turmeric
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder + pepper powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ginger 
  • 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic (or garlic paste)
  • 1 tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, pureed 
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 tsp amchur (dried mango powder)

Method:

  1. Wash the drumsticks
  2. Mix all the spices and ingredients together with yogurt
  3. Add the chicken and marinate at least one hour
  4. Grill the chicken
  5. Sprinkle with lemon juice + amchur powder
  6. Serve with rice or naan
  7. Don’t hesitate to lick your fingers! 🙂
